Het jaarlijkse event Hutspot & Couscous is terug!

Hutspot & Couscous is een samenwerking tussen de Studentenkerk, Awaz Nijmegen, CSN, NSN en MSV Nijmegen. Het is een avond waarop verschillende achtergronden en geloofsovertuigingen bij elkaar komen.

Het thema van dit jaar zal ‘Mentale Gezondheid en Geloof’ zijn. Kan religie een bron van veerkracht zijn, of vormt het soms een belemmering om open te zijn over psychische klachten? Hoe kunnen geloofsgemeenschappen bijdragen aan het welzijn van hun leden, en welke rol spelen rituelen en gebeden bij mentale gezondheid?

Op de avond zal gastspreker dr. Carl Sterkens, wat komen vertellen over het thema. Carl Sterkens is hoogleraar Praktische Theologie en Empirische Religiewetenschappen aan de Radboud Universiteit. Om de avond af te sluiten zullen we met stellingen over het thema ‘Over de Streep’ doen. Aan het einde zal de voorzitter van het College van Bestuur Alexandra van Huffelen een slotwoord houden.

The annual Hutspot & Couscous event is back!

This event is a collaboration between Studentchurch, Awaz Nijmegen, CSN, NSN, and MSV Nijmegen. It is an evening where different backgrounds and beliefs come together, filled with engaging conversations and meaningful dialogues.

This year’s theme is ‘Mental Health and Faith’. Can religion be a source of resilience, or does it sometimes create barriers to openly discussing psychological struggles? How can faith communities contribute to the well-being of their members, and what role do rituals and prayers play in mental health?

Our guest speaker for the evening will be dr. Carl Sterkens, a professor of Practical Theology and Empirical Religious Studies at the Radboud University. To conclude the evening, we will engage in an ‘Over the Line’ discussion, exploring statements related to the theme. Finally, the chair of the Executive Board Alexandra van Huffelen will give the closing remarks.
