What if we told you that Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi (Saladin) and Richard I of England (Richard the Lionheart), two of the most powerful leaders of the medieval world, once negotiated a marriage alliance as a peace proposal to end the Third Crusade? This lecture reveals a nearly forgotten moment of diplomacy where faith, power, and peace unexpectedly came together.

The lecture will be delivered by Adnan Husain, a historian and professor at Queen’s University in Canada. He specializes in medieval history, focusing on intercultural and interreligious relations between Muslims, Christians, and Jews in the medieval Mediterranean world.
